What is my Dharma?

If the dharma of fire is to burn
And, that of water is to flow…

Then, as such, what is mine?

It is not the dharma of fire to burn nor of water to flow... it is their nature.
It is your dharma to find your true nature...

BTW, I tried writing to the email address you left on my blog. Always bounces... :-|

Belated Happy Onam to you, Gayathri...

Well, I was busy with work here, so did not get time or the thoughts to write...

Eroteme, please mail me at abhi.warrier@gmail.com

I think the e-mail ID I put in your blog must have been my ex-official ID. So it bounces. Sorry for that. Please do write to me.

Eroteme,

I forgot to add... the actual meaning of the word "dharma" in the vedas is "nature", not religion as we all commonly denote and think...

Dharma was never meant to be religion and I didn't use it in that sense. Dharma as far as I know doesn't mean nature either (though one can extrapolate anything). Dharma, IMHO, means duty/doctrines/true path.

One's true nature can only be realised when the self ceases to exist; how can one flow while moored to the banks of the world with chains of ego?
Dharma/Duty is not devoid of ego, whereas one's true nature is devoid of ego.

In my opinion, I say duty. When we are born, we have a role to play on this vast stage. A role that we have to execute with precision and according to the Bhagavad Gita. The Gita tells us how to live our life. As we live our life, our true nature will then unfold. Ultimately, if we lead our life the right way, we would eventually realise the Self within. This would be the perfect life
